Colour
Therapy is an ancient practice. We are only now rediscovering
why. The Universe is alive, and bathed in energy. Universal
Energy! From Cosmic Rays and Gamma Radiation to visible
light, microwaves and radiowaves, collectively known as
the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
This energy can be considered to be travelling in waves.
The distance between these waves we call wavelengths, and
the number of times they oscillate is known as the frequency.
All living
things have their own vibrational frequency. Each muscle,
bone and organ vibrates to its own frequency, and these
frequencies produce the electro-magnetic field around us.
This field contains all the colours of the spectrum as they
appear in the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
The colours
are constantly changing in volume, shade and density according
to our state of health or moods.
Colour therapy
works with these fundamental energies of life It attempts
to induce proper operation of the wavelengths in the body
and electromagnetic field, thereby assisting the person
to function in a balanced mode.
There are many
different ways in which Colour can be used therapeutically.
Some examples would be, lights, filtered light, coloured
cloths, glass, colour potentised water, breathing exercises,
meditations and of course the Aura-Soma products which work
through the skin (a semi-permeable membrane) and directly
into the electro-magnetic field.
Consultations
will vary considerably depending on the therapists' training
and specialisation. In an Aura-Soma consultation, the client
is asked to select several of the multi-coloured bottles
from a vast collection. The therapist is trained to interpret
and explain the colour selection in various ways which give
insightful and useful information to the client. Further
healing takes place once the client begins to use the contents
of the bottle in their own time. As yet there is no association
formed in South Africa for Colour Therapy.
